Content:     The revolution in lighting sources, transformation of world lighting industry and emerging of newly developed lighting industries have become a common understanding of the whole world. With the progress in solid-state lighting technology and wide application of solid-state lighting products, the solid-state lighting industry is regarded as the most potential industry in the 21st. century. The solid-state lighting has remarkable energy-saving and environment-friendly properties. Under the circumstances of global energy crisis and China's fairly great pressure in terms of energy and environmental protection, the solid-state lighting is recognized worldwide as an important approach for energy saving and environmental protection and a strategic hi-tech industry.

In order to fully display the latest achievements in solid-state lighting industry, university and research at home and abroad, actively promote innovation and application of solid-state lighting technology of China and the world, enhance international exchanges, and strengthen cooperation and exchange between solid-state lighting industrial and academic circles across the Straits, the National Solid-State Lighting Engineering Project Coordination & Management Office will hold the 2005 China (Xiamen) International Exhibition on Solid-state Lighting (the Lighting Exhibition) in Xiamen during April 12-15, 2005, following the successful 2004 China (Shanghai) International Exhibition on Solid-state Lighting. The Ninth China Xiamen Machinery & Electronics Exhibition will be held simultaneously

Scope of Exhibition:
The Lighting Exhibition will be held in Hall B, Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center. The exhibition area will be 6,600sq.m. with 300 international standard booths, mainly exhibiting:

1. Raw materials: LED epitaxial substrate materials, high purity gases, MO sources, phosphor powder, and encapsulant materials, etc.

2. LED epitaxial wafers, chips and various encapsulated components, etc.

3. LED production, research and testing equipment.

4. LED application products: traffic lights, backlight sources, display screens, car lighting application products, special lighting and other application products.

5. Achievements of four national solid-state lighting industrialization bases and solid-state lighting research and development organizations throughout China.

6. Others: demonstrative projects, purchasing requirements information, LED and solid-state lighting books and magazines, etc.
